Rött Fartyg (2023- 2024)
A mostly speculative response to lake Vänern, in Sweden. Looking at the correlation of salmon, salmon boats and röda hus, encapsulated in illusive images of ‘Båtskjul’ (a traditional salmon boat converted into a shelter and painted with rödfärg). The project involved the construction of a ‘red craft‘ and an Odyssean journey that would take the artist along the 1,000km coast line of one of Europes largest lakes, placing sculptural objects at each location where a ‘Båtskjul‘ was discovered. Each sculpture containing trackable Geocache objects and logbook.
The Rött Fartyg ‘skin’ boat made of plywood, nylon fabric and resin, was partly constructed for a residency at Kolgruvan, Göteborg.
